Describes the dimensioning of clearances and creepage distances for spacings equal to or less than 2 mm for printed wiring board and equivalent constructions, where the clearance and the creepage distance are identical and are along the surface of solid insulation.

The purpose of this protocol is to extend the validation of the skill “Maintain Safe Distance” when complex safetyrelated sensor systems (SRSS) are installed within the workcell, by characterizing th e SRSS performance. The characterization is based on the measurement of the response time of the system and results accuracy. Results are expressed in human operator position, human operator perimeter violation, human operator movement speed and a true/fal se detection of the human operator falling to ground.

This Canadian standard is the ISO standards ISO 10218-1 (see above) and -2 combined into one document.CSA added additional requirements for the user of the robot system. Some of these requirements mightneed to be addressed by the robot integrator

This type-A standard applies to new, existing, modified or rebuilt power driven machines, not portable by hand while working, that are used to process materials by cutting; forming; pressure; electrical, thermal or optical techniques; lamination; or a combination of these processes. This includes associated equipment used to transfer material or tooling, including fixtures, to assemble/disassemble, and to inspect or test. The associated equipment, including logic controller(s) and associated software or logic together with the machine actuators and sensors, are considered a part of the industrial machinery.

This Technical Report provides guidance for the: implementation of functional safety principles in artificial intelligence (AI) programming when used as a means for machinery safety applications; effective communication between functional safety personnel (who provide the primary technical knowledge of machine(s) system hazards and the application of risk reduction measures) and data scientists / programmers with no or limited machine system knowledge, but who understand the capabilities and limitations of the AI system.
