In StandICT.eu 2029, supporting and promoting the involvement of ICT standardisation experts in SDOs at a global level is pivotal. 
For this reason, standICT will recruit and enroll experts through 6 different Open Calls, each one running for 60 days. 

Priority topics for Open Call 2

For Open Call 2, the following priority topics have been identified:

  • Applications on Artificial Intelligence, contributing in particular to CEN-CENELEC JTC 21;
  • Applications on technical topics covered by the EC Standardisation Request on high-risk AI-systems, with the following priorities:
    • Urgent priority:
      • governance and quality of datasets,
      • accuracy specifications,
      • robustness specifications,
      • record keeping through logging capabilities,
      • transparency and information provisions for users,
      • human oversight.
    • Less urgent priority but still important:
      • risk management systems,
      • cybersecurity specifications,
      • quality management systems.

Open Call 2 - Info Session

StandICT.eu 2029 will organise and host an online info session on 24 March 2026, to provide further guidance to prospective applicants who are preparing a proposal for StandICT.eu 2029 Open Call 2, and complement the guidelines which are available on the Open Call 2 Website Page. The session aims to provide both newcomers and experienced fellows with valuable information and leave participants with a clear understanding of what StandICT.eu 2029 funds and what makes a proposal eligible, and of timeline, process and evaluation approach. Practical tips to avoid common pitfalls will be shared.

Mentorship Programme

The Mentorship Programme is designed to help new or less experienced experts engage effectively in the work of Standards Developing Organisations (SDOs) by providing them with guidance, practical tips, and mentorship from seasoned professionals. This allows experienced StandICT.eu Fellows to share their expertise with a new generation of European professionals, helping to ensure that the European Union maintains a strong and sustainable standardisation knowledge base for the future.
