Impact on SMEs (6th Open Call)
The smart energy is currently not only an important market trend of a dynamic growth and rapid technological development, but also a central axis in the EU's Green Deal strategy joining ICT and energy sectors as main pillars for the EU development facing serious energy challenges. Furthermore the green transformation is currently considered to be an important aspect of the European energy security, especially in view of the international situation, the Russian invasion on Ukraine and the scaling energy crisis concerning hydrocarbons. In regard to these challenges the European Commission strategically plans to secure advancing renewable energy technologies further enabled by ICT and a leading global position of the EU in smart energy, transforming the global warming and the international situation challanges into a growth opportunity for EU SMEs driving European innovation with a focus on smart energy. Action's efforts in driving international smart PV standardisation supports EU SMEs.

Impact on SMEs (1st Open Call)
SMEs will be strongly impacted by the future set of harmonised standards in support of the AI Act. One of the aims of the JTC 21 is to provide standards that are innovation-friendly and actionable. Following JTC 21/WG 1 work, a dedicated AHG (AHG 9) has been set up to support SMEs.
Impact on SMEs (4th Open Call)
This project clarifies for SMEs when they use standards related to trustworthiness characteristics, as conformity assessment for those characteristics will be done for defined domains and operating conditions.
Impact on society (1st Open Call)
My work supports AI trustworthiness characteristics such as robustness, human oversight, accuracy, cybersecurity, and transparency (all those are requirements from the AI Act).
Impact on society (4th Open Call)
The impact is potentially significant worldwide, as the European regulation on AI and its subsequent harmonised standards will be followed by any international company that wants to do business in Europe.

This NIST MDKP PWG GAFB Standard being developed for the New Ecosystem on Multi-Domain Knowledge Planes Driven Networking Era in 5G & 6G presents a tremendous opportunity for the adoption and use of global standards developed in Europe by ETSI in the USA market to steer commerce and open up new collaborations opportunities between USA and Europe stakeholders for commerce and innovation of services and GANA KP Platforms products by industrial players in these markets. This also has the effect of strengthening Europe's position in global standardisation initiatives thanks to the adoption of ETSI standards in the US for global reach and use outside Europe. Stakeholders benefit as follows: Telecommunications network operators/CSPs, Private Enterprises, Government Institutes, SMEs, or Research Institutes can expose network capabilities for use by other authorised parties when available within certain times for specific incentives (e.g., monetisation of the resources usage).
Impact on society (6th Open Call)
The following objectives of the NIST MDKP GAFB Specification provide unique Use Cases for 5G, 6G and Future Networks:
“Requirements for Enablers for Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility” that facilitate the leveraging of dynamic resources and assets availability in various sector domains when they are discoverable for use in dynamic on-demand network(s) and differentiated connectivity services formations; and/or application-layer service innovation, composition and delivery using the newly formed networks and connectivity services or ones already available such that they can serve the needs of the targeted application layer service(s).
New ecosystem on Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility (i.e., coined the “MD_KPs_Feds_For_5GnB ” Ecosystem) in which ETSI GANA Knowledge Plane (KP) Platforms (based on the ETSI TS 103 195-2) as Distributed Open Platforms (DOPs) that enable federated Autonomic/Autonomous Networking (ANs) should play role as anchors for the ecosystem, together with DOPs on the higher level, namely: Service Federation Orchestration & Autonomic Management & Control Platforms that dynamically place demands for differentiated and federated network connectivity services on the GANA (KP) Platforms.

This NIST MDKP PWG initiative presents a tremendous opportunity for the adoption and use of global standards developed in Europe by ETSI in the USA market to steer commerce and open up new collaborations opportunities between USA and Europe stakeholders for commerce and innovation of services and GANA KP Platforms products by industrial players in these markets. This also has an effect of strengthening Europe's position in global standardisation initiatives thanks to the adoption of ETSI standards in US for global reach and use outside Europe. A New Ecosystem is emerging from the NIST Specifications which have potential to reduce Carbon Emissions, thanks to Nework Sharing.

Impact on SMEs (2nd Open Call)
I am contributing to work on cybersecurity evaluation industry protocols, and it is important for SMEs that protocols are based on published harmonised EN standards, so that they can be used by the radio communications equipment manufacturers and all other stakeholders to evaluate their equipment for the purpose of legal compliance to the cybersecurity requirements and therefore ultimately to improve their response to threats.
Impact on SMEs (5th Open Call)
By its nature, the CRA covers all products with digital elements, and therefore, all supply chain segments are in it, including SMEs, and the European SMEs and societies are at the forefront. A successful and clear standardisation deliverable is the outcome of this standardisation process.
Impact on society (2nd Open Call)
While the society at large is not aware of the work done in this or most fields of expertise, the overall objective is to improve the way end-users communicate via their internet connected devices.
Impact on society (5th Open Call)
In this spirit, the CRA-related standardisation work produces instructions for manufacturers of devices with digital elements explaining that they will now have to include technical features to improve the level of cybersecurity of such devices before placing them on the European market.

Impact on SMEs (6th Open Call)
My work has a direct impact on European SMEs and society. By contributing to standards like ISO/IEC 27560 and the EUDI Wallet Access Control in CEN TC224/WG20, I help create practical, privacy-focused frameworks that SMEs can adopt with minimal cost and complexity. These standards enable GDPR-compliant consent, transparency, and data minimization, reducing legal risk and building user trust.
Impact on society (6th Open Call)
In terms of broader European interests, my fellowship contributes to EU goals of digital sovereignty, user empowerment, and privacy leadership on the global stage. As the EUDI wallet is adopted across Europe, this framework will provide a scalable model for data protection and user-centric identity management that can be extended beyond digital wallets to other data-sharing contexts, enhancing Europe’s role as a privacy leader. With data privacy becoming a key competitive factor, this initiative not only strengthens the protection of EU citizens’ rights but also sets a high standard for digital identity solutions globally.
