The goal of this report is to capture the landscape of edge computing activities and edge computing documents/specifications published and/or under publication by SDOs, Alliances and OSS Initiatives.

The report was produced by the  Technical Working Group TWG-IIoT & EDGE established under the remit of the EU-funded StandICT.eu 2026 project. The TWG operates in full autonomy and transparency.

The European Green Deal & the New Industrial Strategy for Europe call for a strong EU presence in international Standardisation development. The recent significant shifts in the geopolitical environment call for increasing the intensity of the EU presence in international standardisation committees. Building up a strong and sustainable pool of European Standardisation competent professionals who are ready to engage in European and International Standardisation is crucial.
