Report on Landscape and gap analysis of standards in semiconductor and chip technologies

StandICT.eu; ALLPROS.eu; ICOS

<p>This report provides an overview of the work done by the Technical Working Group (TWG), performed by analysing almost 5,000 global standards in connection with semiconductors and chips technology. The table used for this analysis will be published in 6 months from the publication date of this report. This report is split in two major parts: a landscape overview, and a gap analysis. It is aimed to be circulated widely among experts and Standard Development Organisations (SDOs) to help share the findings and the analysis of the TWG.

StandICT.eu; Sarkar, Arkopaul; Frost, Lindsay; Walshe, Ray; Muscella, Silvana

<p>In the beginning years of the evolution of the semantic web and linked data, ontology engineering made steady progress&nbsp;through academic efforts to support the semantic web stack. The admission of Ontology and Graphs&nbsp;in the &ldquo;hype cycle&rdquo; by Gartner&rsquo;s report in 2020 not only indicated its closeness to maturity but also highlighted that Ontology is finally being accepted as a practical solution for many ICT applications.</p>

Cloud for Data Driven Policy Management

Michael, Panayiotis; Oikonomou, Konstantinos; Ledakis, Giannis; Willems, Marieke; Mari, Marialetizia; Smith, Zachary; Abergas-Arteza, Julie; Taborda Barata, Martim; Bettiol, Alberto

<p>Policymaking has always revolved around the initiative to solve problems and since the start of more focused research on it, it contained many stages from problem identification and agenda setting to policy formulation, legitimization, implementation and evaluation. As policymaking evolved and societal challenges became more complex, policymakers tried to include more factors into the decision-making process and thus data driven policymaking became an important tool in this field.

Report of TWG Digital Twins: Landscape of Digital Twins

Antonio Kung; Claude Baudoin; Karim Tobich

<p>Digital Twins represent one of the most novel and promising &nbsp;concepts within the general trend of digital transformation. They are a distinctly&nbsp;21st century invention. The term is attributed to Prof. Michael Grieves of the University of Michigan in 2002, and the approach was adopted in particular by NASA around 2010. The concept has proved very powerful and has now been universally used across domains, and yet we have only scratched the surface of what they can or should do.

Europe's contributions to ICT Standardisation globally Impacts from StandlCT.eu funding

Silvana Muscella; Francesco Osimanti; Filomena Minichiello; Patricia Nugent; Luigi Colucci

<p>Europeans must find ways to sustain European innovative businesses to seek ways to commercialize standards and bring them into new value chains. Standards allows us to go cross boundaries, to fuse together nature-based solutions, this is why innovation in the climate domain is critical to enable the creation of a genuine design of the ecosystem so profoundly important in today&rsquo;s digital driven society. Global standardisation has traditionally thrived from open, bottom-up member contributions.
