This is the sixth of a series of reports that will be published addressing selected topics in accordance with the European Commission priorities. The aim is to reflect on the latest trends and developments and discuss the future of blockchain in Europe and globally.This report, prepared by the new team leading the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum, aims to present a comprehensive overview of the rapidly expanding field of Decentralised Finance (DeFi).

This report introduces an approach for the definition and identification of key edge computing and/or combination of IoT/IIoT, edge computing and cloud computing gaps in several initiatives. Based on the prioritisation of these gaps, the deliverable starts to address the work done within the relevant SDOs that need to cooperate in order to solve these gaps.

The Rolling Plan for ICT Standardisation provides a unique bridge between EU policies and standardisation activities concerning information and communication technologies (ICT). This helps to increase convergence of standards makers’ efforts towards achieving EU policy goals. This document is the result of an annual dialogue involving a wide-range of interested parties as represented by the European multi-stakeholder platform on ICT standardisation (MSP).

The guide addresses the benefits of standards and standardisation to innovators and the links of intellectual property, patents and licensing with standardisation.
