This will radically change the current services already deployed by the European and National Public Health Institutes to monitor, alert, and advise Political decision-makers, Public Organizations, Environmental Institutes, and citizens by implementing new adaptable and modular automated diagnostic solutions for future pandemics combined with innovative technological solutions based on the concepts of inter-connected IoT.

SMEs are major contributors in the RFID industry, contributing to in particular tags, readers and system integration. All of them require harmonised standards. Therefore, the work and content of ISO/IEC 18000-63 is very important to them.

This activity is the continuation of the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC31 WG4 "Radio communications" work to serve the international and European industry and society to enhance standards to better serve the needs of Europe and the whole world and in particular to provide standards that are in particular relevant for IoT and DPP.
RFID (UHF RFID, RAIN RFID) are a major used technology for the supply chain and production to reduce overproduction and waste. Furthermore, it is a technology for the Digital Product Passport, which is strongly supported by the European Commission for sustainable product regulations.

Initiatives like the European Quantum Flagship, alongside global R&D programs, are channeling billions of euros into developing breakthrough quantum solutions. SMEs, long a cornerstone of the European industry, are now poised to harness quantum standards for critical communication infrastructures, including qubit development, advanced encryption, and network interoperability. These standards, including QRNG standards, will further boost state-of-the-art cybersecurity, laying the foundation for a future quantum internet, driving sustainable techno-economic growth, and ensuring that European SMEs and society remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global market.

With progress in quantum computation increasing investments are allocated at quantum technologies, including QKD and QIPC. Programs such as the Quantum Flagship in Europe have counterparts globally allocating billions of euros and dollars in R&D. SMEs play a crucial role in development of innovation and with QT it is no exception. Standards for basic quantum infrastructures such as quantum information encryption in future quantum networks can support innovation in quantum technology and accelerate its uptake by European SMEs. This is already happening among multiple startups in Europe, with a lot of their founders and/or key engineers engaging in the standardisation effort of the action with expert cooperation developing.

The societal impact of the action is in supporting European’s leading role in quantum technologies. Quantum engineering is expected to revolutionize industry on an unprecedented scale, surpassing technological revolutions witnessed so far.It is important for Europe and its citizens to be at the forefront of these developments as they will define economic and hence societal position of the EU in the future.
European leaders understand potential of quantum technologies and allocate adequate means to support research and development in this domain with programs such as the Quantum Flagship (QF) or the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI).

This NIST MDKP PWG GAFB Standard being developed for the New Ecosystem on Multi-Domain Knowledge Planes Driven Networking Era in 5G & 6G presents a tremendous opportunity for the adoption and use of global standards developed in Europe by ETSI in the USA market to steer commerce and open up new collaborations opportunities between USA and Europe stakeholders for commerce and innovation of services and GANA KP Platforms products by industrial players in these markets. This also has the effect of strengthening Europe's position in global standardisation initiatives thanks to the adoption of ETSI standards in the US for global reach and use outside Europe. Stakeholders benefit as follows: Telecommunications network operators/CSPs, Private Enterprises, Government Institutes, SMEs, or Research Institutes can expose network capabilities for use by other authorised parties when available within certain times for specific incentives (e.g., monetisation of the resources usage).

The following objectives of the NIST MDKP GAFB Specification provide unique Use Cases for 5G, 6G and Future Networks:
“Requirements for Enablers for Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility” that facilitate the leveraging of dynamic resources and assets availability in various sector domains when they are discoverable for use in dynamic on-demand network(s) and differentiated connectivity services formations; and/or application-layer service innovation, composition and delivery using the newly formed networks and connectivity services or ones already available such that they can serve the needs of the targeted application layer service(s).
New ecosystem on Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility (i.e., coined the “MD_KPs_Feds_For_5GnB ” Ecosystem) in which ETSI GANA Knowledge Plane (KP) Platforms (based on the ETSI TS 103 195-2) as Distributed Open Platforms (DOPs) that enable federated Autonomic/Autonomous Networking (ANs) should play role as anchors for the ecosystem, together with DOPs on the higher level, namely: Service Federation Orchestration & Autonomic Management & Control Platforms that dynamically place demands for differentiated and federated network connectivity services on the GANA (KP) Platforms.

This NIST MDKP PWG initiative presents a tremendous opportunity for the adoption and use of global standards developed in Europe by ETSI in the USA market to steer commerce and open up new collaborations opportunities between USA and Europe stakeholders for commerce and innovation of services and GANA KP Platforms products by industrial players in these markets. This also has an effect of strengthening Europe's position in global standardisation initiatives thanks to the adoption of ETSI standards in US for global reach and use outside Europe. I am contributing to work on cybersecurity evaluation industry protocols, and it is important for SMEs that protocols are based on published harmonised EN standards, so that they can be used by the radio communications equipment manufacturers and all other stakeholders to evaluate their equipment for the purpose of legal compliance to the cybersecurity requirements and therefore ultimately to improve their response to threats.

By its nature, the CRA covers all products with digital elements, and therefore, all supply chain segments are in it, including SMEs, and the European SMEs and societies are at the forefront. A successful and clear standardisation deliverable is the outcome of this standardisation process.

While the society at large is not aware of the work done in this or most fields of expertise, the overall objective is to improve the way end-users communicate via their internet connected devices.

In this spirit, the CRA-related standardisation work produces instructions for manufacturers of devices with digital elements explaining that they will now have to include technical features to improve the level of cybersecurity of such devices before placing them on the European market.
