Standards Body

ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs). The Organization is made up of a membership of 194​ Member States and more than 1000 companies, universities and international and regional organizations. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and with regional offices on every continent, ITU is the oldest agency in the UN family – connecting the world since the dawn of the telegraph in 1865.​

StandICT.eu 2026 has funded fellowships across 12 different standardisation organisations, and this number will expand with the forthcoming funding batches. Beyond, it has also established synergies with 6 different National Standards Bodies.

Besides funding experts who contributes to the activities of the Technical Committees and Working Groups in ITU, other synergies and engagement activities in the framework of StandICT.eu have been carrie out, such as:

  • Speaker slot (Rim Belhassine-Cherif) - 7 March 2024 Webinar ‘Women in ICT Standardisation’.
