Welcome to the StandICT.eu 2026 Sustainability Consultation  - we value our community’s insights

We kindly ask you to take some minutes to complete a short consultation survey to help us understand some of the drivers at play on our sustainability pathway for StandICT.eu. Your insights in this consultation will help guide us in making informed decisions within our European ecosystem driving Standardisation efforts forward with Europe at the centre.

Why is this consultation needed?

As an EU-funded initiative that began back in 2018 as a pilot project to increase the number of European experts covering leadership positions in ICT standardisation global efforts, StandICT.eu has helped, since then, to navigate the complexity of the ICT standardisation ecosystem. For over eight years now, StandICT.eu has been enabling European experts to access EU funding through a dedicated Trust-Grants™ platform, a tool for efficient management of funding via 9 open calls per edition. The EUOS Observatory has enabled experts to access valuable knowledge by showcasing information on key, timely and latest ICT standards and providing detailed landscape and gap analyses reports, while the Standards Academy, with its training courses and modules, has provided guidance and support inter alia to better navigate the world of ICT standardisation, and discuss key concepts and European priorities in standardisation.

Over the years, StandICT.eu has been able to support 400+ ICT standardisation experts and their work in ICT-related technical committees and working groups of international and European Standards Development Organisations, with lump-sum payments of up to €10,000 per project proposal. This has led to a multitude of positive results in the standardisation efforts, some of which are highlighted in the published success stories and fellowships’ impact reports.

Despite these achievements, it is clear that support needs to evolve to accommodate the dynamism of our society. Even in the relatively stable field of standardisation, uncertainty and risk are rising. Therefore, strategic planning is becoming increasingly complex, as organisations must stay vigilant to detect sudden technical or regulatory changes. Future efforts must focus on providing more targeted actions that are aligned with the numerous regulatory Acts coming into force at EU level, and policy priorities, supplemented by accessible “what’s on the radar” insights. At the same time, fostering the long-term sustainability of standardisation efforts is crucial. This includes equipping technical experts with essential “soft skills” and political awareness, ensuring they are both empowered to contribute and retained within the ecosystem.

The questionnaire will only take around 15 minutes of your time to complete. The form will be closed on 30th April 2025. The results of this survey will be made available in aggregate form only, ensuring that it is impossible to identify individuals. The anonymised survey data may be provided to the European Commission, including its agencies and services, other government departments, approved organisations, and approved researchers. Tables containing aggregate data from this survey may be made available on the StandICT.eu website.

We thank you for helping the StandICT.eu community grow and cater more and more for the community’s needs.

Please provide your contact information so we can aggregate responses and follow up with you on the results.
