The StandICT.eu 2026 project, now in its third and final year, is preparing for its final activities. To ensure that StandICT continues its essential role in supporting Europe's ICT standardisation community, a wide stakeholder consultation has just been launched. This consultation aims to gather valuable insights, suggestions, and feedback from all interested parties to shape a sustainable business model for the initiative.
Since its inception in 2018, StandICT.eu has significantly boosted Europe's influence in global ICT standardisation processes. Over the past eight years, the project has directly supported more than 400 European experts, enabling active participation in international standards development across key technological fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, data governance, IoT, and 5G/6G.
StandICT.eu’s dedicated Trust-Grants™ platform has streamlined funding access, allocating over €3 million per each of the three editions in European funds to individual experts to support their participation in standardisation bodies and working groups worldwide.
Alongside direct financial support, StandICT.eu offers essential resources for enhancing the capabilities of ICT standardisation professionals. The EUOS Observatory, for instance, provides information on ICT standards, including insights on trending technologies and policy implications. The Standards Academy complements this by offering structured training modules and webinars designed to equip professionals with practical skills and knowledge for effectively navigating complex international standardisation environments.
As the project's current EU funding draws to a close, ensuring a sustainable continuation becomes crucial.
We therefore invite standardisation experts, SMEs, industry associations, research initiatives, policy stakeholders and anyone interested to contribute to defining a sustainable funding and operational model. Your participation will directly impact how StandICT.eu evolves to continue fostering European leadership and innovation in global ICT standards.
Whether you're an expert who has benefited directly, an SME aiming to engage further in standardisation activities, or part of another EU initiative facing sustainability challenges, your insights are critical.
Participate in our stakeholder consultation through a short online questionnaire and help us shape the next chapter for StandICT.eu and strengthen Europe's role in the global ICT landscape.
The consultation is open until 30 April 2025.
