Since launching as a pilot project back in 2018, StandICT.eu has enhanced its influence and become an ambassador in the ICT standardisation space and a reliable resource to European experts that shape the standards informing future innovative technologies.

2024 was an active year for the entire consortium. Below is a snapshot of the achievements that were made throughout the year:

10 Webinars

StandICT.eu organises webinars to mobilise standardisation experts from across the globe to provide an inclusive forum for engagement. These events are crucial to promote the advancements and achievements being made in the standardisation world, address challenges, identify opportunities for innovation and strengthen collaboration efforts between like-minded experts. In 2024, StandICT.eu introduced a series of webinars dedicated to the Geopolitics of ICT Standardisation, which included specific discussions related to China, India and the USA. Additionally, the Women in ICT Standardisation webinar returned for its 3rd edition, offering a platform for 8 women representatives to share their experiences as women in the ICT standards world and contributions related to their specific domain.

500+ New Standards in EUOS

The EUOS (European Observatory for ICT Standards) repository, developed under StandICT.eu 2023, which provides a comprehensive and accurate coverage of the most important ICT Standards across all key topic areas, saw 500+ entries of metadata on standards in 2024, pushing the total number of listed standards within the platform to over 3,000!

4 Reports Published

Through the EUOS, StandICT.eu provided three additional landscape analysis reports this past year, including the Landscape of Robotics Standards, Edge Computing Standardisation Gaps and IoT Standardisation Gaps. Additionally, as an output of the webinar on Human Rights and ICT Standardisation organised in June, StandICT.eu co-published a report with HSbooster.eu on how human rights should be considered when developing ICT standardisation technical specifications.

339 New LinkedIn Followers

LinkedIn was prioritised as a channel to elevate StandICT.eu’s impact and drive consistent, positive engagement with our diverse portfolio of materials and available resources. Our compelling creative types, delivered with temporal awareness, helped differentiate the StandICT.eu profile. Content focused on educating, informing and fostering discussions with our engaged audience segments assisted in carving out a greater presence in the standardisation arena.

4 Completed Open Calls

Open Calls 3-6 were completed throughout the calendar year in 2024. Each open call saw more than 100 submitted applications, for a total of 438 total submissions. Over €1.3M was awarded to 150 of these applications, of which 36 were female. Browse the re-designed Funded Fellows webpage for a more in-depth look at the impact of our funded experts. The priority goal for StandICT.eu is to provide standardisation experts with access to financial and educational resources that enable them to carry out their objectives and strengthen the European standardisation ecosystem overall. In 2025, we aim to achieve similar excitement and high levels of engagement with our open calls, including our 7th Open Call, which remains open until January 24.

Last year we accomplished many significant milestones and are proud to reflect on the journey. As we head into 2025, we are eager to continue to support the European standardisation landscape, which includes fostering a more inclusive environment for women in ICT, funding dozens of additional fellowships through our Open Calls 7 -9 and engaging with experts and similar organisations in the field through events, partnerships and other collaborations!
