The IEC is the world's leading organization that prepares and publishes globally relevant International Standards for the whole energy chain, including all electrical, electronic and related technologies, devices and systems. The IEC also supports all forms of conformity assessment and administers four Conformity Assessment Systems that certify that components, equipment and systems used in homes, offices, healthcare facilities, public spaces, transportation, manufacturing, explosive environments and energy generation conform to them.

StandICT.eu 2026 has funded fellowships across 12 different standardisation organisations, and this number will expand with the forthcoming funding batches. Beyond, it has also established synergies with 6 different National Standards Bodies.

IEC representatives participated in some webinars organised by StandICT as speakers. In particular at the 24 October 2023 webinar ‘Navigating the Citiverse’ and the 7 March 2024 Webinar ‘Women in ICT Standardisation’

The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) unites telecommunications standard development organizations (ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, TSDSI, TTA, TTC), known as “Organizational Partners” and provides their members with a stable environment to produce the Reports and Specifications that define 3GPP technologies.

The project covers cellular telecommunications network technologies, including radio access, the core transport network, and service capabilities - including work on codecs, security, quality of service - and thus provides complete system specifications. The specifications also provide hooks for non-radio access to the core network, and for interworking with Wi-Fi networks.

3GPP shares with StandICT the goal of creating standards for ICT and in particular for communication technologies. therefore, the two projects exchange useful information for stakeholders.
