This standard defines the key Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs) underpinning smart city platforms and Local Digital Twins, following the methodology described in ITU-T Y.4505 and aligned with the AI-based EU LDT Reference Architecture. It provides normative specifications compatible with CitiVerse requirements for :
• MIM 1: Context Information Management - Standardized APIs and protocols (starting from NGSI-LD) for accessing, updating, and subscribing to context data from diverse sources, ensuring semantic interoperability and real-time data integration across urban platforms.
• MIM 2: Data Models - Common, reusable, and extensible data models (starting from SAREF) that enable consistent representation and exchange of information across domains and systems, supporting discoverability and harmonization of data structures.
• MIM 7: Places - Mechanisms for the standardized representation, identification, and management of geospatial entities (places), enabling location-based services, advanced geospatial queries, and cross-domain referencing of physical and virtual places, with alignment to INSPIRE where applicable.
The standard details technical requirements, interfaces, and conformance criteria for each MIM, ensuring interoperability across platforms while supporting compliance with EU regulations including the Interoperable Europe Act. It builds on ongoing definition efforts of the MIMs framework within Living-in.EU and incorporates implementation experience from pioneer cities.
