Information and Communication Technologies are a fundamental driver of today’s society. Standards play a crucial role in effective development and deployment of these technologies. Women bring valuable perspectives to development of standards as users of technology and as innovators.

However, despite significant advancements, participation of women in developing technology standards remains disproportionately low as compared to men. In the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitally driven society, gender-diverse participation in the standardization process is imperative to ensure balanced, accountable, and bias-free technology development.

Enhancing involvement of women in standardization efforts improves the quality and relevance of technology standards.
