- ETSI F5G FTTR Hybrid Testing Methodology - Stabilisation and Finalisation
5G and Beyond (6G)
The published methodology provides a common technical basis for combining electromagnetic measurements with simulation to evaluate FTTR wireless performance in realistic indoor environments. In the medium term, this can improve reproducibility and comparability while reducing reliance on large numbers of costly full-environment measurements. For European SMEs - especially test laboratories, measurement/simulation tool developers and connectivity solution providers - a shared methodology can lower entry barriers, facilitate interoperable test workflows and enable more efficient validation of innovative products. Longer term, it can support scalable digital-twin-based performance evaluation for fixed-access networks integrating in-premises wireless connectivity and strengthen European technical influence in next-generation connectivity standardisation.
