In 2024, The European Commission is expected to implement a new legislation, Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
This will entail that the newest circular economy initiatives in Europe must demand that nearly all products sold in the EU comply with a wide range of sustainability requirements that ensure transparency about all stages of a product’s life cycle.
This will give consumers, businesses, and policy makers access to information about the product’s entire value chain and traceability including durability, reusability, energy and resource efficiency, carbon and environmental footprints and more.
As a key component in fulfilling the requirements of the ESPR, the Digital Product Passport will become available to all users as a digital record on a public web portal, that will provide all the necessary comprehensive information about marketable products. DPP is not yet mandatory but it will be soon.
At the webinar we will dive deeper into the standardisation work that is already being carried out in the technical committees, standardisation outcomes that are expected to be delivered, areas with potential for further standardisation activities and upcoming policy and legislation related to DPP.
There will be an emphasis on the relation between regulation, standardisation, research, and innovation and why these factors are important for the DPP technology in terms of ensuring the safety, efficiency and reliability of the technology.
Who should attend?
The event is open to all actors with an interest in DPP technology and data collection including EU-funded R&I projects, research organizations, associations linked to DPP technology and data collection, standardization and domain experts, Government and Policy Makers and companies that work with data collection and are interested in DPP technology.
The event is organised in cooperation with HSbooster.eu
